Our NPH El Salvador school serves students from the kindergarten to ninth grade. It is essential for us to have qualified staff to teach every classroom. We have teachers for the basic subjects: math, social studies, literature and science, as well as English, computing class, and religion. In total, we employ 16 teachers, the principal, assistant principal and four psychologists.
More than 100 students attend our school, and within our NPH El Salvador family we also have 40 high school and 26 university students.
It is important for us to purchase books, didactic material - such as different kinds of paper, staplers, notebooks, pens, tape, markers, etc. - as well as sports uniforms, shoes, and other materials in order to provide each of our kids with the tools they need to complete their studies.
In our country it is common to find families who do not send their children to school because they are too poor. Thus, most of our children did not attend school before coming to NPH; for them, studying is very meaningful and they are all eager to learn.
